Ora Nitkin-Kaner is a spiritual leader at Exploring Apocalypse, where she is helping to develop the emerging field of climate change chaplaincy, guiding individuals and groups through educational programs and support spaces that help participants process climate-related uncertainty and change. Through workshops and support groups, she has supported hundreds of participants ranging from 20 to 80 years old and taught the first graduate course in climate chaplaincy in the United States. She has spoken at conferences for clergy, climate activists, and caregivers, published on climate chaplaincy, appeared on multiple podcasts, and contributed to national organizations developing programming at the intersection of climate and spiritual care. Previously, Ora served as a congregational rabbi, prison chaplain, oncology chaplain, and pastoral caregiver in hospitals and correctional facilities across the United States.
