JD Mazuera Arias is a council member in the City of Charlotte, where he is dedicated to building a local government rooted in transparency, unity, and community power. JD was elected to the Charlotte City Council in 2025 through a grassroots movement that mobilized new voters and brought historically underserved voices into local government. JD sits on the Housing and Economic Development & Workforce Committees, where he champions affordable housing and equitable job creation. He founded the North Carolina Latino Political Caucus, resulting in over 34 Latinos pursuing government office across the state in one cycle.
