Matt Hildreth is the executive director of RuralOrganizing.org, where he leads a national network of rural civic leaders in small towns and rural communities. He has grown the organization from a mere website into a movement of nearly 1M advocates, mobilizing over 5,000 network champions, and has secured over $1B in federal investment for economically under-resourced communities. Matt served as the National Rural Director for the Harris/Walz campaign in 2024 and began his career in media at Sojourners, the largest network of faith-based social justice Christians in the country. Over two decades, he has translated rural voices into national policy, and his leadership across religious and ideological spectrums has informed his efforts, like #UniteIowa on immigration, where he convened 400 Iowans for civil dialogue on contentious issues.
