Alejandro Miranda is the founder and filmmaker of Bravebird, LLC, where he dismantles barriers by producing authentic narratives that center the voices and perspectives of underserved communities. Alejandro’s leadership is grounded in his 15 years of experience as a professional actor, which motivated him to develop the Cinema Dignité production methodology, which creates a community governance model that centers community voices for production and narrative decision-making. Alejandro has led film initiatives across the nation, including 612 Darkness in the Land of Nice, the documentary Decolonizing Dinner, and personally producing the films Sacred Wisdom, Sacred Earth and Movers of Life, a National Geographic documentary that focuses on the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin’s efforts to restore Lake Sturgeon to their reservation and using Indigenous experience to address climate issues.
