Founder and Executive Director, Let’s Go Compost

Lauren Click is the founder and executive director of Let’s Go Compost, a national nonprofit helping schools and youth-serving institutions reduce food waste through practical, low-tech composting systems and soil literacy lessons. Lauren has grown the organization from a local initiative into a national program serving more than 250 schools and community institutions across 29 states, reaching over 35,000 people directly with approximately 70,000 additional stakeholders nationwide. Lauren works with schools, municipalities, policymakers, and private sector partners to create an economic case for composting infrastructure in the country. She is the author of the children’s book The Wild West of Waste and hopes to extend her work beyond schools to help children and their families understand food systems, composting, and environmental stewardship.
