The Grand Opening Ceremony marks the official dedication of the Obama Presidential Center. The livestreamed event brings together global leaders, artists, changemakers, and citizens for an inspiring celebration of the values that shaped the Obama presidency and continues to inspire people everywhere to believe in their power to create change.

Grand Opening Weekend June 19-21, 2026

The Obama Presidential Center opens to the public! Come mark this milestone at a free, open-house style event, celebrating community, creativity, and joy. Dance to music on the plaza, create art with your family, and snapshot your place in this historic moment. 

Because this is a momentous day for the city of Chicago and our global community, we expect that campus will be very active. Campus activities have limited capacity and are first-come, first-served.
