Just Mercy screening

Together with the Joyce Foundation, we hosted a screening of “Just Mercy” on February 24 in Chicago, bringing together hundreds of leading voices from the city to discuss the film’s themes and the potential of restorative justice. We were joined by youth and community leaders from several of our Chicago Impact and Seed grantees including, Thrive Chicago, Youth Guidance, Lawndale Christian Legal Center, and BUILD, Inc. 

Following the film, Jaime Guzman, Deputy Director of MBK Alliance, moderated a panel discussion with several key voices from the movement in Chicago, including, Cliff Nellis (Executive Director, Lawndale Christian Legal Center), Tyrone Stallworth (Participant, Lawndale Christian Legal Center), Xavier McElrath-Bey (Senior Advisor, Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth; Surrogate, Represent Justice), and Soledad McGrath (Senior Program Officer, Joyce Foundation).
