Happy holidays from the Obama Foundation!
As people across the country and around the world come together to celebrate the joy of the holiday season, we wanted to share with you the design of this year's holiday card.
The message President and Mrs. Obama chose to share this year is a reminder of the common hopes that unite us:
“Though we may come from different traditions and hold different beliefs, the holiday season is a time for all of us to reflect on the common hopes that bind us together: a shared desire to build stronger communities, a society that gives everyone the chance to fulfill their potential, and a better future for our children.”
This year’s holiday card features a rendering of the future Obama Presidential Center’s sledding hill and serves as an invitation to neighbors and supporters as we look forward to breaking ground on the Center in 2019. The hill will be part of a children’s play area and Great Lawn, offering year-round spaces for visitors and neighbors, as well as walking paths and a long pedestrian promenade that will connect the Center with the rest of Jackson Park. The hill, as well as the play areas and Great Lawn will be free and open to the public, year round.
When you make a gift before December 31, you’ll be entered to win one of eight original printer’s proofs of our 2018 holiday card, dedicated to you by Obama Foundation CEO, David Simas. Donate now.
Happy holidays from our family to yours!
