Happy holidays from the Obama Foundation

As people across the country and around the world come together to celebrate the joy of the holiday season, we wanted to share with you the design of our first holiday card.

The message President and Mrs. Obama chose to share this year is a reminder that each new generation stands on the successes of the last:

“ In this season of giving and togetherness, we remember that our collective progress is due to the efforts of those who came before us—people who kept pushing forward, doing their part to bend the arc of history towards prosperity, equality, and justice. Thanks for joining us on the journey ahead.”

Inspired by the hopeful message of the Obama Foundation’s mission to train and empower the next generation of leaders, our 2017 holiday card was designed by GERTRUDE, Inc., a global brand development and innovation consultancy based on the South Side of Chicago and features a photo by Chicago-area photographer Brian Kersey of Anish Kapoor's 2004 work, Cloud Gate.
