MBK Wayne County accepted the MBK Community Challenge to improve the lives of boys and young men of color in 2018. MBK Wayne County is a collaboration between community members, non-profits, county leaders and local businesses working with schools and libraries across Wayne County. They seek to develop programs and events that promote ideas and strategies to improve the achievement of boys and young men of color, particularly the involvement of African-American and Puerto Rican boys in areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. MBK Wayne County is focused on three MBK milestones: (3), (4), (5).
