MBK Rochester accepted the MBK Community Challenge to improve the lives of boys and young men of color (BYMOC) in 2014. On November 12, 2014, Mayor Lovely Warren convened a “Local Action Summit,” bringing together community leaders, clergy, educators and law enforcement to find ways to improve the outcomes for Rochester young people and their families, particularly BYMOC. From that summit, several working groups were formed to examine existing programs and determine how to create sustainable pathways to success for all youth. MBK Rochester is focused on all six MBK milestones.
