MBK Oakland accepted the MBK Community Challenge to improve the lives of boys and young men of color (BYMOC) in 2015. Oakland is the largest city in Alameda County and the East Bay, and also one of the most diverse cities in California and the U.S. Recognizing the assets BYMOC possess and improving their life opportunities are key for the success and prosperity of everyone in the community. In 2018, MBK Oakland was selected as an MBK Impact Community and is focused on all six MBK milestones.
