Silver Spring, Maryland
Aallyah Wright is a national journalist and the editorial director at StoryWorks, a documentary theater company that transforms investigative journalism into free, community-centered public art. She has helped assist with free acting classes, led award-winning productions, and a partnership with Delta State University to equip participants with skills to develop art exhibits, research historic sites, and create cultural heritage tours. Aallyah is also the award-winning national rural issues reporter for Capital B, a nonprofit Black news organization. As a proud Mississippi Delta native, Aallyah uses community-driven storytelling to train the next generation of artists and journalists, amplify marginalized voices, and hold institutions accountable.
