Anuchka Ramos-Ruiz is the provost and vice president of academic affairs at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, one of the oldest and largest educational institutions in Puerto Rico. She created new arts, health and business academic schools as well as competency-based curricula and projects to include more Latinas in the fields of computing and science. She led the implementation of a reading program in the university library to improve access to books that has served 300 children and developed an after-school pilot program that offers pre-college summer programs to students. She also launched the Memoir Writing Project, which addresses loneliness experienced by older adults in Puerto Rico by teaching participants how to write down their memories and share them with their communities.
