Marifer Rivera is the community building director of Comunidades Unidas, an organization that defends human rights and fights to build the social and political power of Latinx immigrants in Utah. Comunidades Unidas works to make Utah a place where immigrants’ humanity is recognized, and immigrants can find a path towards their liberation. Marifer leads the organization’s food access, preventive health, workers’ rights, and Promotora programs to connect community members to the resources they need to prosper. Marifer is passionate about social justice and addressing the intersections we all have in order to build community.
