Cassie Sutherland is the Managing Director for Climate Solutions and Networks at C40 Cities, a network of nearly 100 global cities committed to halving their emissions by 2030 in addition to improving equity and resilience, cleaning the air, creating jobs, and enhancing quality of life for all residents. Cassie, who leads a global team of 100 people from over 20 different countries, is dedicated to addressing the global climate crisis within urban environments by leveraging the leadership from the world’s largest cities to implement ambitious climate action. Over the past 15 years, she has championed the unique ability of cities to effectively reduce carbon emissions, enhance resilience to climate change impacts, increase equity, and foster economic prosperity. Her work has included sharing climate solutions and supporting cities to learn from each other, such as Bogota’s electric bus fleet expansion that was informed by the rapid rollout in Shanghai and Milan's air quality programs following London's Ultra Low Emission Zone.
