Svitlana Romanko is the founder and director of Razom We Stand, an independent Ukrainian movement focused on defending Ukraine from Russian aggression and promoting a sustainable, green future. She launched and coordinated the Stand With Ukraine campaign to ban fossil fuel imports from Russia and end the war in Ukraine. A former university professor and expert in environmental, energy, and climate law, Svitlana led climate campaigns across Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia with 350.org. In 2021, she coordinated the largest faith institutions’ fossil fuel divestment, worth over $6 billion, with the Laudato Si Movement. An environmental lawyer, Svitlana was awarded the Rose Braz Award for Bold Activism in 2022. Svitlana is an action-oriented changemaker who has proven she is not afraid to take on big challenges.
