Thomas A. Manglona II is the chief regional correspondent at KUAM News. From the island of Rota, Thomas is a native Chamorro multimedia journalist covering government, environment, and social justice issues for the TV station. He also teaches media, democracy, and current events at the Northern Marianas College. He is a member of the Indigenous Journalists Association and Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). At AAJA, he founded the Pacific Islander Journalism Task Force to advocate for journalists and coverage across Oceania. Believing his work builds on a lineage of storytellers, Thomas is passionate about representation in media and hopes to uplift and amplify the next generation of Indigenous storytellers and narratives.
