Kalena is the Chief Scientist of Coastal Fisheries at the Marshall Islands Marine Resources Authority. She believes Marshallese culture and tradition circulate around relationships with the oceans making people the oceans stewards. She is passionate about self-care and being proud of one’s heritage. Kalena passed away in February 2024.
