Maryan is Somalia’s Chief Negotiator for accession to the World Trade Organization. Maryan is an emerging leader in international arbitration, trade, and public international law. She believes that fair and equitable trade can lead the way for peace and reconciliation in G7+ states like Somalia. Maryan is passionate about harnessing the participation of youth and women. She is the youngest woman ever appointed as Chief Negotiator to the WTO and the youngest woman ever appointed to the panel of the World Bank’s Investment Arbitration Court.
