Ellen Chigwanda has 19 years of experience with grassroots, national, and international nonprofits. Working for CARE since 2013, Ellen is a growing social entrepreneur with a strong passion and interest in innovations linked to addressing barriers to girls' education and adolescent empowerment. In 2016, she was selected as an Echidna Global Scholar at the Brookings Institution, where she developed a framework for building resilience to climate change through girls education.
