Victor Agognon
Benin
Victor is the planning and local development officer and secretary-general of the municipality of Boukombe. He works as the technical advisor to the Mayor in the identification, designing, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of local and community development projects and in the management of human resources. He works in collaboration with financial and technical partners, state authorities (national and provincial levels), and local stakeholders of the municipality in designing and implementing development projects. Apart from his professional occupations, he is the counselor of three local women’s associations working on gender issues and local development. Victor is working hard to improve the role of women in local decision-making so that their opinions can be heard and considered, and is promoting small revenue-generating activities like poetry and jewelry using local materials.
