Oluwaseun Osowobi
Nigeria
Oluwaseun is a young leader with five years working experience in the development sector. She is the executive director of Stand to End Rape Initiative (STER), an award-winning, youth-led human rights organization advocating to end gender-based violence, providing support services to survivors‚ and, working with communities to change perceptions that perpetuate gender inequality in Nigeria. Oluwaseun previously interned at the United Nations Headquarters and Half the Sky Movement in New York. He has worked across 40 Nigerian communities advocating against FGM and sexual violence and engages stakeholders on ending the scourge. Oluwaseun holds a degree in development studies and a master's degree in international relations from Swansea University, United Kingdom. She is the 2017 Future Awards Africa Prize for Advocacy winner, Future of Women Africa - Social Impact Award winner, one of 100 Most Influential Young Nigerians in 2017, 2017 Queen's Young Leaders Award Highly Commended Runner-Up and a Vital Voices Fellow.
