Clemence Shuma

Clemence is the project director of Tanzania Community Empowerment Foundation (TACEF), a non-governmental organization that works for and is led by transgender people and sex workers. TACEF works to serve the needs of intersex, transgender, gender non-conforming (ITGNC) communities, and sex workers by guiding and supporting advocacy efforts that focus on human and health rights, capacity development, research and documentation, and livelihood programs with the intention of levering democratic decision making among ITGNC persons and SW in Tanzania. He oversees monitoring and financial accountability, manages project activities based on programming guideline programs for normal programs, and demonstrates progress and limitations of software approaches. He also maintains regular contacts with fellow partners and maintains support relations with service providers and the government.
