Bernadette Ippet Letembet
Mali
Bernadette is a 29 old Malian-Congolese lady. The civil war in the Congo forced her to settle in Mali with her family and made her realize the challenges of life and the importance of fighting for human rights. Holder of a BBA, Bernadette works for an international organization and has been active in her community for 14 years. She was president of the National Children Parliament in Mali, then she was president of the association “Oui Pour une Enfance Noble” OPEN Mali. In 2014, she was selected for the YALI program which allowed her to strengthen her leadership skills in the U.S. Upon her return, Bernadette co-created the movement “Halte Aux Violences Conjugales” to fight domestic violence against women. Bernadette has also been involved in the issue of youth employment and is developing projects to strengthen their capacities and prepare them for the job market.
