Alero Thompson

Alero is the chief education officer and founder of Sound Her Nigeria Academy that was nominated in the “Best Idea” category by United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization-UNESCO. Her initiative provides a second opportunity for young girls to gain back the education they missed. She teaches basic educational subjects and entrepreneurial courses to young girls and women and also takes these females through a self-esteem workshop just to help them realize their self-worth. Her work has helped over 300 young girls to go back to school and she also looks forward to having her program run in all states in her country and encourages other youths to do the same in their countries through her social media platform. Alero aspires to be the best civic innovator in her country and the world at large, a world where girls and women are educated just like their male counterparts.
