Executive Director & Co-Founder

William Smith-Stubbs is an entrepreneur, innovator, and co-founder of research and design studio Mettlesome, mental health tech startup Dala, and the UNESCO prize-nominated non-profit, the Museum of Sticks & Stones (MoSS). Originally founded as a mental health non-profit in 2011, with landmark programs including young men’s mental health program STFU and intergenerational connection platform #OLDMATE, MoSS shifted focus in 2021 to one of the largest threats to global health and prosperity: the rising challenge of hate, polarization, dehumanization, and social isolation. MoSS is dedicated to helping people from all backgrounds find common ground through programs that leverage art, history, play, and education and has engaged more than a million people since 2023. William is also a former World Economic Forum Global Shaper, the first Australasian Global Good Fund Fellow, Co-Chair of the Queensland peak body for mental health consumers, and an Obama Foundation Asia Pacific Leader.
