Finale Doshi-Velez is a Herchel Smith Professor in Computer Science at the Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University. Her interests lie in creating beneficial, regulatable AI systems that advance the interests of individuals and societies; her current areas include reinforcement learning, human+AI interaction, and applications to health, wellbeing, and crisis negotiation. She completed her MSc from the University of Cambridge as a Marshall Scholar, her PhD from MIT, and her postdoc at Harvard Medical School. She is a co-founder of the Machine Learning for Healthcare Conference, an advisor to Women in Machine Learning, and an Anita Borg Early Career Award recipient.
