Ammar Rizki

Chief Financial Officer

Ammar Rizki serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for the Obama Foundation where he oversees the Finance, Information Technology, and Operations teams.

Before joining the Foundation in 2022, Ammar served as the Chief Financial Officer of Cook County Illinois, the second largest county in the country with a $8 billion budget, where he helped spearhead dramatic improvements to the county’s finances and pension funding. During his tenure with Cook County starting in 2013, Ammar implemented a number of best practices on financial and operational management that put the County on a path to sustainability. He was instrumental in establishing the County’s first Equity and Inclusion Fund to address historic disparities and disinvestments in Black, Latinx, and other marginalized communities. Prior to joining the County, Ammar held a number of managerial and analytical roles in banking and investment management.

Ammar currently resides in Northbrook, IL with his wife and two children, where he is actively involved as a board member of the local elementary and middle school district. Ammar holds a B.Sc in Finance from the University of Illinois in Chicago and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
